Project Controller II - Albuquerque, NM
Job Summary: The individual is responsible for supporting a diverse team of project management and controls professionals, while also supporting for the successful implementation and management of the project management systems and tools for the Federal Program Office (NA-125.5).
Security Clearance: This position requires an active DOE Q clearance.
Salary: Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Support the development and implementation of project management and controls policies, processes, and procedures to include earned value management/performance measurement, Primavera P6 schedule development and integration, baseline change control, risk management, and funding management.
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of the project management and controls system and subsequent products to include reporting.
- Support the development and execution of project management and controls training to be given to all project management and controls staff.
- Support the project management team in areas of cost estimation, schedule development and integration, risk management, baseline change control, and earned value analysis.
- Support customer reviews and presentations relating to project performance.
- Support client reviews on contractor's implementation, baseline, and surveillance of Earned Value Management Systems.
- Serve as the lead programmatic liaison between the technical and project management staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (includes education, skills, and experience):
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience with an emphasis on financial accounting, project/production scheduling, and risk management.
- Advance knowledge of program management tools, including Primavera P6, Deltek products, Empower Encore Analytics, Active Risk Manager (ARM), among others.
- Knowledge of the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA Defense Program Project Management Requirements Documentation.
- Knowledge of NNSA Nuclear Weapons Life-Cycle Phases and subsequent Product Realization Processes.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and management, as well as efficient coordination of services delivered to clients.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Customer service orientation and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Ability to multitask, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload.
Preferred Qualifications (includes education, skills, and experience):
- Skilled user of program management tools.
- Experience working with NNSA Life Extension Programs.
- Project Management Professional and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification.
