SENIOR PROGRAM/PROJECT CONTROLLER II - Las Vegas, NV
Job Summary: Supports project management and controls team in analyzing project performance. Guides implementation of project management and controls initiatives to include all related documentation and communication to required parties.
Security Clearance: This position requires an active DOE Q clearance.
Salary: Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Update the integrated master schedule in Oracle Primavera P6 (P6).
- Work day-to-day with project personnel to maintain communication of work priorities and provide updated status.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of the project schedule.
- Report cost, schedule, risk and earned value information.
- Provide "before" and "after" schedules and costs to show the impact of proposed changes.
- Develop cost estimates to support change control actions.
- Assist Control Account Managers (CAMs) in the identification and development of cost and schedule trends.
- Provide data to support the development of cost and schedule variance analyses to be performed by CAMs.
- Support the preparation of recovery or corrective action plans by the CAMs.
- Support development of the project baseline by CAMs.
- Process change control documents.
- Participate in weekly project status and monthly change control meetings.
- Prepare presentations of cost, schedule, scope, risk, and earned value information.
- Ensure integrated master schedule and earned value performance data complies with scheduling policies.
- Support updates, per CAM and/or PM, to develop and update cost estimates (and provide associated basis of estimate information) for the WBS elements.
- Provide a monthly report to the Technical Representative and Buyer, including period of performance and value, technical progress and accomplishments, costs status, and other notes.
- Advanced user of PM tools to include Primavera P6, Deltek products, Empower Encore Analytics, Active Risk Manager (ARM), among others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications (includes education, skills, and experience):
- A minimum of 10 years of project management experience with an emphasis on financial accounting, project/production scheduling, and risk management. A minimum of two years of leadership or management experience.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong user with project management and control tools to include Primavera P6, Deltek Cobra, Acumen Fuse/Risk, and Empower.
- Understand the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Defense Program Project Management Requirements Documentation.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with fellow staff members and management, as well as efficient coordination of service delivered to clients.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills (oral and written).
- Customer service orientation and a commitment to providing outstanding client service.
- Ability to multitask, work successfully under pressure, and effectively prioritize and manage time and workload.
Preferred Qualifications (includes education, skills, and experience):
- Expert in Oracle P6.
- Experience working with NNSA Life Extension Program.
- Project Management Professional and/or Lean Six Sigma Certification.
